Hi I'm Bex and the goon next to me is my husband Pete. We have only been homebrewing for a few years but in that time have really begun to enjoy the pleasures of drinking something that we have had a hand in making.
We started off (as many do) with equipment found in Pete's parents attic and a trip across to Edinburgh to purchase a wine kit. We enjoyed it so much we rushed back to buy another, and another etc. I enjoy beer and as such was keen to make my own, I found a raspberry beer kit and got to it after that i was hooked. We now exclusivley to brew from raw ingredients. Pete has just done an Apple and Rhubarb and I am in the middle of a Pale Ale.
Beer making from grain is alot more complicated than basic fruit wines but with the right equipment, correct ingredents and the right information (this is where we come in) you can produce your own good quality beer for pennies. After my first batch I found it hard to return to commercial lagers as they smelt like fart!
